Slow Internet is a Crime
Charter Communications and Spectrum, (formerly known as Time Warner Cable) is being sued for intentionally selling slow internet.
The New York Attorney General alleges that the company deliberately promised Internet speeds they could not deliver. Nearly 5 million New Yorkers were paying as much as $109.99 per month for premium plans but getting internet speeds up to 80 percent slower than promised.
While the company made billions, they refused to invest in upgrades to the overloaded network and continued to lease modems and routers that were incapable of providing the advertised speeds.
